11. Parktherme 24-hours-swimming
Saturday 5th November - Sunday 6th November
Nearly 500 participants from 13 different nations, including international swim and triathlon stars and IRONMAN participants, as well as celebrities from sport, society and entertainment, started on Saturday, the 5th November, after a Special Olympics Opening Ceremony at 11:00 am for the good cause. They were able to make up unbelievable 145.000 lenghts in the 50-meter-outdoor sportpool and therefore they collected 9.600 euro for "Licht ins Dunkel". It has been the 11th time, that the Parktherme 24-hours-swimming took place in the Parktherme Bad Radkersburg. This year, nearly 500 participants took place in the event - a record! The styrian cup holder Claudia Müller (1296 lenghts, 64,8 KM) and Mario Kainz (1226 lenghts, 61,3 KM) were able to defend their title. Also the female swimmingteam "Bunt Gemischt die Dritte“ won again - the fifth time in a row. Also the guests from Schladming-Dachstein, which openend the event with the Special Olympics Opening Ceremony swam togheter with the celebrities from sport, society and entertainment - including the snowboard world champion Marion Krainer, Miss Austria Amina Dagi, radio host Udo Huber and a lot more - for the good cause.
