Why does a visit to the sauna have a preventive effect against a cold?
In the volcano sauna you sweat at a pleasant temperature of 70 degrees Celsius. The blood vessels of the skin and the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract are stimulated by subsequent cooling in the plunge pool. As a result, they are better supplied with blood and can thus fight more strongly against a cold.
Especially during the cold season we are more susceptible to a cold and a regular sauna visit in the volcano sauna can counteract this. It is important to note, however, that the immune strengthening effect against a cold is not enough with a visit to the sauna. Only after regular sauna sessions can the immune system achieve a lasting strengthening and protect your body from a cold.
With an air humidity of 25% and a temperature of about 70°C the volcano sauna is well suited for the prevention of a cold. A sauna session in the volcano sauna of the Parktherme Bad Radkersburg, however, should not last longer than 12 to 15 minutes and should always be followed by a brief cooling down. Cooling down after a sauna session in the volcano sauna should be short so that the body does not cool down too much.
If you have already caught a cold, the sauna should only be visited by those who have been to the sauna regularly before. Sauna newcomers are advised not to visit the sauna if they have a cold.
Can I also wear clothes in the volcano sauna?
A sauna session with clothing is not allowed in the sauna village of the Parktherme.
The clothing covers the body and changes the sweating process that makes for a healthy sauna. By naked saunaing without clothing, the body is able to react correctly to the heat due to sweating. If the body is now covered by a towel or clothing, this process can no longer function so well and the healthy effect of the sauna is not achieved.
For all those who feel unwell without clothing, the Parktherme Bad Radkersburg in the sauna village offers infrared cabins. Also the relaxzone with the light sound temple and the herbal salt grotto is suitable in the best way as alternative.
